Pinterest app setup and review

Start with the appropriate trial access, then request Standard access for the intended production use.

Register the app

1. Request access and register the redirect

Open Pinterest business account → My apps

App owner

  1. Sign in to the business account intended to administer the app. Verify its email and accept the developer terms if requested.
  2. Select Connect app. Complete the actual app identity, use-case and policy information, then submit the Trial access request.
  3. After Trial approval, open My apps → Manage for the intended app and find its credentials.
  4. Open Configure → Redirect URIs. Add the exact application Callback URL, then select Add to save it.

Expected result The approved Trial app has its own credentials and the matching redirect.

If this does not happen A pending Trial request does not establish credentials or Standard production access. Follow its actual decision.

Configure and test

2. Save the application fields and test a Pin

Open Your application → API Integration → Pinterest

Administrator, then workspace user

  1. Map the Pinterest issued app/client identifier to Client ID, and its app secret to Client Secret.
  2. Verify the displayed Callback URL against the saved redirect in Pinterest.
  3. Review Permissions for the actual board/Pin operation. Set Status to Enable for this test setup and select Save configuration.
  4. Connect the permitted Pinterest account through the workspace’s connection flow and select the intended board.
  5. Run one supported test Pin action and check its actual result under the current access tier. A Trial-created Pin can be visible only to its creator.

Expected result The correct account/board is connected and the permitted test action produces a result.

If this does not happen For a redirect error, compare the exact URI and any secondary redirect. For a missing board, check account, access and scopes.

Request Standard access

3. Request Standard access

Open My apps → eligible app → Upgrade

App owner

  1. Confirm the app already has the eligible Trial access and a working real OAuth/API flow.
  2. Record application login, Pinterest OAuth consent, board selection, a Pin action and its result. Do not show only mock screens or collect Pinterest passwords/cookies.
  3. Select Upgrade when it is offered. Recheck the use-case information and privacy policy, then attach the current video.
  4. Submit the request and record its actual reference/status. Address the specific feedback if it is denied.
  5. After Standard access is granted, retest the required public visibility and operational access before offering that behavior to users.

Expected result The app records a Standard decision and your actual feature test agrees with the granted access.

If this does not happen If Upgrade is absent, check app eligibility. If a request is pending, do not present Trial test behavior as Standard approval.
