Captions
Prepare, review or publish content to selected destinations.
Step-by-step guide
Before you start
Use the account and workspace that own the records. This page does not include administrator configuration forms.
Open this feature
Open /portal/captions on your application domain. The tasks below name the controls to use after opening the page.
Steps
Use the workspace that should own the caption. The caption library must be enabled and your role must allow creating posts.
Save a reusable caption
- Open Captions and select Create caption.
- Enter Test product launch in Caption name. Choose the intended Status: Active, Draft or Archived.
- In Your caption, enter the text to reuse, for example Our new product is available today. Visit the product page for details.
- Add optional comma-separated Tags such as launch, product. Open Add internal notes only if you need a private reminder.
- Select Save caption. Find the caption in the library and use Preview to check the saved text.
Reuse or edit a caption
- Use Copy on the intended caption, then paste the text into the post you are composing. Check the text after pasting.
- If copying fails, open Preview and select the text manually.
- To change the stored caption, use Edit, change the fields and select Save changes. Check the saved preview again.
Fields shown in the interface
| Field or setting | What to enter or choose |
|---|---|
| Caption name | Required, up to 120 characters. It identifies the library entry. |
| Status | Active, Draft or Archived. This is a caption-library state, not a published-post state. |
| Your caption | Required, up to 10,000 characters. The destination social network can impose a smaller limit when publishing. |
| Tags | Optional comma-separated tags, up to 1,000 characters before processing. |
| Notes | Optional internal notes, up to 2,000 characters. |
Check the result
- Preview contains the stored caption text.
- Saving or copying a caption does not publish it to a social network.
Problems and validation
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Caption does not appear | Clear the library filters and check its status and workspace. |
| Copy does not work | Use Preview to select the text manually; clipboard access depends on the browser. |
| A post rejects the copied caption | Check the selected network’s post requirements and shorten or adapt the text in the post editor. |
