Admin
Notifications
Configure or review notifications and their intended recipients.
Step-by-step guide
Before you start
Use an administrator account for this feature.
Open this feature
Open /admin/notifications on your application domain. The tasks below name the controls to use after opening the page.
Steps
Creating or resending a notification can notify users immediately. For a test, use a controlled test account and leave Global notification off.
Send a notification to a selected test user
- Open Notifications and select Create notification.
- Enter an optional Title such as Test notice and a required Message describing the test.
- Add Link only if the notification should open a specific destination. Use a complete URL that the intended user may access.
- Leave Global notification off. Use Search users to find the controlled test user, then add that user to the selected recipients.
- Check the selected recipients and recipient count. Remove any unintended account before submitting.
- Select Create notification. Check the stored item and ask the test user to check their application notification list.
Edit or resend
- Use Edit to correct the notification text or link, then select Save changes.
- Use Resend only when another delivery to the recorded audience is intended. Review the item’s audience first; do not use Resend merely to refresh the list.
Fields shown in the interface
| Field or setting | What to enter or choose |
|---|---|
| Title | Optional, up to 255 characters. |
| Message | Required, up to 5,000 characters. |
| Link | Optional complete URL, up to 255 characters. |
| Global notification | When enabled, the audience is every user and individual selection is disabled. |
| Search users / selected recipients | Choose at least one user when Global notification is off. Confirm the recipient count before sending. |
Check the result
- The item shows the intended message and recipient count.
- Check the recipient’s application notification list separately. An admin success message is not proof of email or browser push delivery.
Problems and validation
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Select at least one user or enable global notification | Add the intended test user. Do not enable global delivery just to clear this error. |
| Link is rejected | Use a complete valid URL or leave the optional field empty. |
| Recipient does not see the notice | Check the selected account and application notification list before resending. |
