Create and reuse UTM parameters
Save campaign-attribution parameters and apply them to supported links/pages/QR destinations without retyping the same campaign values.
Step-by-step guide
Before you start
- Decide on the naming scheme used by your analytics reports. UTM values are attribution labels, not destination URLs.
Open this feature
- Open /portal/brand/utm-presets on your site.
How to use it
Choose a task
Create a campaign preset
- Open /portal/brand/utm-presets. Enter Preset name, for example Spring email.
- Enter utm_source as the source, utm_medium as the channel type and utm_campaign as the campaign label. For a practice setup, use newsletter, email and spring-offer respectively.
- Add utm_content or utm_term only when you need that distinction. Set Campaign key and Auto apply when campaign key matches only if you intend to use matching behavior.
- Review Use as default UTM preset, then select Add preset.
- Select the preset in the intended supported editor, save the item and follow its public URL to inspect the final destination parameters.
Fields and examples
| Field or choice | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Preset name | Internal name used in preset selectors. |
| utm_source / utm_medium / utm_campaign | Source, channel and campaign labels. Use consistent spelling/case with your reporting convention. |
| utm_content / utm_term | Optional distinctions for creative/content or terms. |
| Campaign key / Auto apply | Enables the intended match-based selection when supported; it is not a campaign URL. |
| Use as default | Review before enabling; a global default may be selected on new supported items. |
Check your finished result
- Inspect the final destination’s query parameters and the saved item’s preset selection.
Problems and fixes
| What you see | What to do next |
|---|---|
| Parameters are missing | Check the saved item’s selected preset and the actual public redirect, not just the preset list. |
| Unexpected campaign labels appear | Review defaults, campaign-key matching and existing query parameters before changing the preset. |
