Import short links from CSV

Create multiple short links from a header-based CSV, using shared brand settings. Review created/skipped rows and correct only the missing items.

Step-by-step guide

Before you start

  • This CSV format is different from QR Bulk: a header row is required.
  • Prepare destination URLs and optional unique aliases. Your plan must allow bulk import and have room for the new links.
Open this feature
  1. Open /portal/short-links/bulk on your site.

How to use it

CSV example with a header

Keep the header for Short Link Bulk. Replace the example destinations and choose unused aliases.

name,destination_url,custom_code,password
Spring offer,https://example.com/spring,spring-offer,
Customer support,https://example.com/support,,

Download the header-based CSV example

Prepare and load the CSV

  1. Open /portal/short-links/bulk and select Template if you want the application’s sample file.
  2. Include the headers name,destination_url,custom_code,password. The first two columns are required; optional columns can be blank.
  3. Keep one link on each physical line. Quote fields containing commas. Use a unique custom_code or leave it blank for an automatically generated code.
  4. Paste the CSV into CSV source, or choose a CSV/TXT file and select Load file. The upload limit is 5 MB.
  5. Inspect the visible preview. It shows only the first eight rows; review the full file yourself before importing a larger batch.

Import and reconcile the result

  1. Choose the shared Brand domain, UTM preset and Tracking pixels that should apply to the imported links. A selected domain must be verified.
  2. Select Import short links or the top Import button once.
  3. Read the Created count and visible skipped-row errors. Open Links to confirm names, destinations, aliases and shared brand settings.
  4. If only some rows were created, correct and import only the missing rows. The visible error list is limited to eight entries; do not assume it is the full list for a large batch.

Undo the last tracked batch if it was a mistake

  1. Before loading another CSV or leaving the current import state, inspect the created links and confirm that the recent batch is the one you intend to remove.
  2. Use Rollback last import batch only when deleting those newly created links is intended.
  3. Check the Links list afterwards. Rollback removes the IDs tracked for that recent import; it is not a full import-history restore or an undo of older batches.

Fields and examples

Field or choiceHow to use it
nameRequired, maximum 160 characters. Example: Spring offer.
destination_urlRequired complete URL, maximum 2,048 characters. Example: https://example.com/spring; replace with your destination.
custom_codeOptional unique ASCII letters/numbers/dashes/underscores, 3–48 characters. Leave blank for generation.
passwordOptional, 4–255 characters when supplied. Do not put real passwords into a file intended for broad sharing.
Brand domain / UTM preset / Tracking pixelsApply the selected shared assets to created rows. Review defaults before importing.
Preview and ErrorsThe preview and visible error list each show at most eight entries; inspect the entire source and saved results for larger imports.

Check your finished result

  • Search several saved links and test their short URLs.
  • Reconcile row count, created count and skipped/missing rows before retrying.
  • Verify shared brand settings on a saved imported link.

Problems and fixes

What you seeWhat to do next
No valid CSV rows foundInclude a header row and at least one data row. Use the exact name and destination_url headers.
Alias is already usedChoose another unique alias, or leave custom_code blank. Do not re-import already successful rows.
Rows stop importing before the endCheck the plan’s total-link limit and skipped-row messages.
No recent import batch to roll backThe current page state no longer tracks a batch, or it has already been rolled back. Inspect the Links list instead of assuming nothing was created.
