Inspect short-link click reports

Review recorded clicks for a link or a selected reporting scope, export a report and interpret available breakdowns.

Step-by-step guide

Before you start

  • Know the short link and period you want to inspect. Opening the final destination directly is not the same as following the short URL.
Open this feature
  1. Open /portal/short-links/analytics on your site.

How to use it

Select a link and read its clicks

  1. Open /portal/short-links/analytics.
  2. Use the link selector to choose the intended link, or use All short links for the wider scope.
  3. Review the selected period and available click, device, location and referrer breakdowns. Click a breakdown only when you intend to drill into that subset.
  4. Select Export when you need the report file, and check that the file uses the intended scope.

Check a test click without deleting report history

  1. Open the actual short URL on a separate device/session, then return to the report and refresh the matching scope.
  2. Keep test traffic in mind when interpreting totals. Do not use Reset stats as a normal page refresh; it is a statistics-reset action.
  3. If a report differs from another tool, compare filters, periods and event definitions before treating either count as wrong.

Fields and examples

Field or choiceHow to use it
Link selectorChoose one link or All short links before comparing totals.
ExportProduces a report for the currently selected scope; inspect the downloaded file.
Reset statsChanges stored statistics. It is not equivalent to clearing a search/date filter.
Breakdowns / A/B resultsRead the metric labels and sample size. Observed clicks alone do not establish causal lift or sales.

Check your finished result

  • Check link scope and period on-screen and in any export.
  • Use a controlled short-URL visit to investigate missing data.
