Compare link-item variants on a bio page
Configure alternative labels/destinations for supported link items and inspect their observed results. This feature works on existing page items, not a second independent page editor.
Step-by-step guide
Before you start
- Create a Link Bio page containing supported link items first. Decide what one change you want to compare.
Open this feature
- Open /portal/link-bio/ab-testing on your site.
How to use it
Configure two variants for an existing item
- Open /portal/link-bio/ab-testing and choose the intended Page.
- Find the exact block/item. Set its UTM content label if you need one to identify that item in attribution.
- For each offered variant, review its enabled state, Weight, Button label, Destination URL and Supporting text.
- For an equal starting comparison, use equal weights such as 50 and 50. Use real, reachable destinations and change only the aspect you intend to compare.
- Select Save tests. Reopen the same page/item and verify the saved variants before sharing the published bio URL.
Clear a test deliberately
- Choose the same Page and locate the item whose test should stop.
- Select Clear test for that item, then select Save tests.
- Check the page’s public item and its configuration. Clear test changes the local form first; Save tests persists that change.

Check your finished result
- Reload to confirm the saved variant configuration.
- Inspect observed results over a meaningful period; small samples do not establish a reliable winner.
Problems and fixes
| What you see | What to do next |

| No eligible item is listed | Select the correct page and add a supported link item in the page editor first. |
| Cleared test returns after reload | Select Save tests after Clear test. |
| Variant counts are uneven | Check weights, enabled states, scope and sample size before assuming allocation is broken. |
